United Infrastructure (UI), our Engineering, Procurement and Construction contractor, has implemented temporary 'stop and go' traffic management measures today (Monday, 16 February 2026) on Gladstone Way, Hawarden as part of the Main Onshore Pipeline's (the Pipeline) construction programme. These temporary traffic management measures are scheduled to end on Friday, 20 February 2026.
Stop and go traffic management is a manual traffic control method used to manage traffic flow around roadworks that restricts a road to a single lane. As part of these measures, traffic marshals from the UI project team will be using hand-held, double-sided signs (one side marked "STOP" and the other "GO") to alternate the flow of traffic from both directions.
These measures are in place to ensure the safety of the community and on-site project team. They also keep traffic flowing as freely as possible while heavy goods vehicles enter and exit the construction compounds near Gladstone Way.
These measures have been approved by Flintshire County Council (FCC) in advance, and more information of these works can be found in the roadworks map section of the FCC website here
Further updates about works to facilitate the construction of the Pipeline will be added onto the HyNet Hub Latest News section in the future.
