On Friday, 6 March 2026, the first weld of the 36-inch Main Onshore Pipeline (the Pipeline) was completed. This milestone marks a significant step in the programme and officially commences the construction phase.

The first weld was:
- Completed in line with the approved Welding Procedure Specification, which sets out the formal requirements for welding activities.
- Carried out to the British Standard (BS 4515-1:2009).
- Undertaken in full alignment with the Pipeline's Health and Safety Executive (HSE) requirements.
- Successfully coordinated between the construction, quality assurance and control, engineering and HSE teams.
