The planning process
The Point of Ayr (PoA) Cable Route Foreshore Works Proposed Development (“the Proposed Development”) is currently in its determination phase.
Project stage
Following the statutory Pre-Application Consultation (PAC), which took place between 16 June and 14 July 2025, the planning application has been submitted under the Town and Country Planning Act (TCPA) 1990 (as amended) to Flintshire County Council (FCC) for determination. The consultation activities, analysis of feedback and our response to the issues raised is presented in the PAC Report submitted as part of the planning application.
What happens next
The planning application has been validated by the local planning authority, FCC. You can view and comment on the application directly to the Council by visiting its Public Access Website and searching the reference number: FUL/000705/25. The application is targeted to be determined in October 2025.
Post-submission stage
The planning application is currently being determined by FCC’s planning officers, who will assess the submitted materials and make a recommendation to either grant or refuse permission. The final decision will be made by the Planning Committee, which is composed of local councillors. We anticipate a decision later in 2025.
